All people over 60 are entitled to free prescriptions and eye tests.
In addition, the NHS low income scheme provides help with certain other health
costs.
The scheme's benefits include:
- free NHS dental treatment
- vouchers for glasses and contact lenses
- help to meet the costs of travel to and from hospital for NHS treatment
- free NHS wigs and fabric supports
You can get help though the NHS low income scheme if you are claiming:
- Pension Credit (Guarantee Credit element)
- Income Support or JSA(IB)
- Working Tax Credit with a disability element or a severe disability element
(for you or your partner), Child Tax Credit only and your annual household
income is £14,600 or less
