What is it?
If you are on a low income your children may be entitled to free school meals.
Can I get it?
In order for your child(ren) to be eligible to receive free school meals you must be in receipt of one of the following benefits:
- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- Child Tax Credit and your annual income is under £15,050 and you do not receive Working Tax Credit
- Pension Credit including the Guarantee Credit element
Children who receive Income Support or Disability Living Allowance in their own right are also entitled to help.
How do I claim?
Free school meals are administered by local authorities. To make a claim contact your local authority.
